Pita Chips Are Perfect Summer Snack

Kids love to cook and with proper supervision, there’s no reason they shouldn’t. This recipe is a simple one with minimal cleanup.

 

Don’t be afraid to improvise with the ingredients! Your gang can experiment with herbs in your cupboard. For instance, a bit of smoked Spanish paprika can add color. You can also use more garlic and toss in a dash of onion powder, if you’d like.

Ingredients:
2 cups pita, cut into strips or triangles
1/2 cup olive oil
1 Tbsp. romano/parmesan cheese blend
1 tsp. Garlic Gold Nuggets (brand) or garlic powder
1 tsp. herbs de Provence
Pinch of Kosher salt

Method:
Preheat oven to 400. Coat cookie sheet with spray-on cooking oil OR cover with recycled aluminum foil.

Pour oil into a mixing bowl. Add pita, stirring to coat the bread well. Place bread on cookie sheet. Sprinkle on salt, herbs, garlic and cheese. Place chips in oven’s center rack and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning. Cool on cookie sheet. Enjoy!
